Obama in the Fox Hunt

According to the US News and World Report, “Fox Pushed Team Obama Over the Brink.”

WTF?

So the response from “Team Obama” is to try to circumvent that little annoying First Amendment thing and shut them out because they don’t like what Fox reports. Those who say Fox isn’t a “news” channel say so because they don’t like the news that it reports. If CNN & MSNBC don’t report it, it can’t be news, right?  (With that being said, I’m wondering if there’s anyone out there who genuinely thinks it’s a good idea to “investigate” the CIA for their anti-terrorist methods, or on the other side of the idiot bin, whether we really ultimately cared about hearing/seeing hours and hours of coverage about a balloon that obviously couldn’t hold a person anywhere around it… but I digress).

Meanwhile, Team Obama is pushed over the brink? What the hell is that? Every sitting president has his critics, and a lot of these strident voices were mysteriously quiet when the formerly mentioned stations were “reporting” on the Bush presidency. And believe me, I’m no fan of Bush. But I know hypocrisy when I see it.

Fox is a news channel that does not spew hate. I’m a dispassionate black woman, nearly 60, peripherally involved in the struggle, and I think I know hate when I see it. But then, I had no preconceived notions about what Fox reports.  Silly me, I watched their news shows without prejudice or rancor before I found out I was supposed to hate them. Who knew.

Are all of its programs great? Are all of its reporters credible? No, not even remotely. Most of them are downright annoying, but I don’t care about their personalities.  But think about this:  before you denigrate the nutty Beck, you also most denigrate the uncomfortably profane Olbermann. Both of them are loony bin candidates, but at the very least, Beck has a certain wholesome and scrubbed face charm.  Olbermann is peculiarly menacing, and not engaging to watch. In addition, I’m not overly fond of O’Reilly, and Rachel Maddow and Ann Coulter both need to be bitch slapped.  I could go on…

Obama made a big mistake by not going on Fox to explain his health plan last month. Whether he or any other person has a “not news” opinion about Fox, the fact of the matter is that Fox has a huge and loyal following, and by dismissing Fox, he dismissed millions of Americans. In essence, he told all of those people that they don’t matter to him.  Of course, these same people mattered when he was on  O’Reilly’s show during the campaign.  Funny how things change.

Now, who pushed whom over the brink? Looks like Team Obama pushed itself. Crybabies indeed.
